Young Goodman Brown

i first i see that the story is taking in Salem and them that the man is name Goodman, i think that the this character is the young version of the character is the witch trial of Salem you know the old man and old women that they kill because there were witches. and it see that it was half true as he did that in his early days. i guess that was a sign of the future because in the end he said that he felt tthat it was a dream of evil omen for the young goodman brown.

Edgar Allan Poe, “The Purloined Letter”

It just like Edgar Allan Poe i always have trouble with his story. it took me at least 8 time to understand what he trying to get across. but once you see that this story is very smart story about the police and how a letter got from one place to another and how it was easy to predict what the police was going to do. this letter got from one hand to another and gave the impression of something but it really is funny the way it end.

William Carlos Williams, “The Use of Force”

here we can see a doctor who is having very little patience with the little sick girl who refuse to open her mouth. with also see that not only the girl and the doctor is having a very harsh time but also is her parent the father that feel like he hurting her and the mother who is nervous because of the doctor. the doctor was call in as a house call and is trying his best to open her mouth to see if the girl fever is cause because of a sore throat.

Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The Yellow Wallpaper (1899)

i a bit confuse i think she was the lady in the paper, and she was trying to kill her self with rope help me out here people. i know this lady is crazy and all she keep talking about the paper and is her husband cheating on her with Jennie what her name. i don't know, but is she pregnant as well and did she kill herself or her husband.

Kate Chopin, “Story of an Hour”

I like this story is very funny, it describe how a wife in the 1800s felt about the oppression that women had to go through. I think i could relate a little since i from the Caribbean and some women are oppress by their family and husband. The joy of seeing some one that you love but hurt you and want to be free of that person, hear that he dead. that a great feeling to hear that but at the same time a little sad to hear that person is death. However you feel great that the rest of your life is free from that torment you call life now. The strory turn went she make her mind up run down the stairs to see her husband in the living flesh her only choice was to much to content and i better to die of joy than to live without.
